Black American Christians, I want to tell you a true story. About 100 years ago your ancestors were sold to my ancestors. These white men then preceded to bring your ancestors over to this country in boats. Along the way they would often have to “get rid of some cargo” and they threw you ancestors by the thousands into the sea weid down with chains and tied together, drowned and died agonizing, terrifying deaths. In fact, they killed so many of your ancestors this way, that sharks began to follow the slave ships for an easy meal.
Your ancestors who were “lucky” enough to actually make it to America where then auctioned off like cattle to the highest bidder. They were beaten and raped. Their families torn apart never to see each other again. They even tortured and murdered many just to make an example out of them so the other slaves would be too scared to fight back; and then they put your people to work doing some of the most grueling labor imaginable. They were considered a piece of property and used as animals. A people once so proud but treated so cruelly and inhumanely that they were eventually beaten and terrorized into submission.
